About Us

Bewitching talisman, inspired by the natural world, macabre, unusual and occasionally geeky.

Made using recycled precious metals and ethically sourced gems, stones and bones.

Kasasagi Jewellery was created in September 2018 after a journey of four years of learning metal-smithing and wanting to share my creations with others.

I create jewellery that reflects my interests and hope to find others who share these with me.

Hi! My name is Claire Cashman and I am the founder of Kasasagi Jewellery.

I imagine, design and create by hand all the wonderful pieces of jewellery you see on this website. I hope you all like them as much as I loved making them!

I have always been creative and have many fond memories of drawing pictures of nature, animals and underwater scenes with my dad and as I got older making and building woodwork with my granddad.

I love learning new skills and how to use different art and craft techniques. I don't think my desire to learn and experiment will ever change. I believe that this desire is what drives my creative process which then leads to the creation of something new and unique.

I studied Contemporary Textile Practice at UWIC in Cardiff, where I got to explore, learn and experiment with even more varied mediums. I then went onto complete a teacher training course to lead post sixteen students. A few years ago I went on my first 'Ring in a day' course at Alice Goldsack's Bristol studio. I was hooked! I have been progressing my practice both with her and in my home workshop ever since!

I love jewellery – designing, making or wearing it, and my workshop is littered with sketches, objects, materials, shapes and textures that excite and inspire me. I enjoy creating a diverse collection of silver jewellery - creating wearable art that can be treasured everyday.

(My workshop- organised chaos!)

Its important to me to tread lightly on the earth as well as creating quality jewellery to last a lifetime. Which is why all of my jewellery is made using recycled metals and are hallmarked at the assay office in London. I also send your talisman to you in Eco-friendly packaging.

Whatever you are after, whether it’s an statement piece, a gift for a special occasion or something for every day wear I hope I have something you will cherish!
